PLC Splitter

Planar lightwave circuit (PLC) splitters are passive optical components that divide a fiber optic signal into multiple output fibers. They utilize an integrated optical chip design for reliable, precise splitting suitable for high-density applications. Inside the PLC splitter module, a waveguide circuit on a silicon chip divides the input signal onto multiple output waveguides with precise optical splitting ratios. Choosing the right PLC splitter requires matching the split ratio to the system optical budget. Splitter isolation and uniformity must also be considered for performance.
